What is an Authorized Distributor?
Manufacturers rely on regional servicing
distributors to sell and service their products based upon product
knowledge, service capability and technical qualifications. To ensure
adequate service during the warranty period and to provide appropriate
product upgrades, these distributors commit to providing the customer
with on-site service after the sale is made. Authorized distributors are provided with software keys, diagnostic tools and
service bulletins that are intended to maximize an instrument's useful
life. In addition, manufacturers want to be sure that the distributor
maintains the proper licensing, documentation, physical resources and
certifications necessary to comply with state and federal laws that may
be required to sell and maintain medical devices.
Why is
it important to buy
from an Authorized Distributor?
- Availability of
factory parts and service
- Maintain
manufacturer's warranty
- Provide on-site
instruction on use and maintenance
- Insure appropriate
installation
- Arrange for
manufacturer recalls and product upgrades
- Maximize
instrument's useful life
Why is
it important to have your medical instrument calibrated
or serviced by an Authorized Distributor?
Manufacturers require
authorized distributors to maintain adequate and appropriate resources
to support their products. These resources include
adequately trained personnel, verified instrument calibration,
loaner instruments and adequate financial resources to support required
inventories. Failure to have your medical instruments calibrated by an
authorized distributor may void factory warranties, violate state and federal
laws, and present significant exposure in the event of
litigation.
