Operating the RA500

INSTRUCTIONS FOR  OPERATRING THE TREMETRICS RA500 AUDIOMETER

 1.        TURN THE POWER ON.  THE POWER SWITCH IS LOCATED ON RIGHT UPPER REAR OF AUDIOMETER (BEHIND THE CALIBRATION LABEL) AS YOU FACE THE FRONT OF THE AUDIOMETER.

 2.        PRESS THE ENTER KEY. 

3.        PRESS THE BLUE NEW TEST KEY. 

4.        PRESS THE BLUE YES KEY.

 5.        PRESS 0 (ZERO KEY)  AND THEN THE ENTER KEY.

 6.        ENTER THE EMPLOYEE SSN AND THEN PRESS THE ENTER KEY.

 7.       PRESS THE RUN TEST KEY. The instructions to the patient are as follows: When you hear a beep, push the button and release it.  Push the button as soon as you hear the beep.  Do not hold the button down or press the button if you do not hear the beep.

 8.        AT THE END OF THE TEST THE PRINTER WILL PRINT THE RESULTS AND THE AUDIOMETER WILL BEEP.  PRESS ANY KEY TO END THE TEST.

9.        IMPORTANT NOTE: WHEN YOU TEAR OFF THE PAPER STRIP, GRAB THE TOP CORNER OF THE SLIP AND PULL SHARPLY FORWARD ACROSS THE PLASTIC TEETH.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TEAR OFF THE PAPER SLIP IN ANY OTHER FASHION OR YOU WILL JAM THE PAPER AND DAMAGE THE PRINTER HEAD

 *To install new paper, remove the old roll by lifting up the roll and removing the paper holder.

Note the relative position of the paper; it feeds from the bottom of the roll.

Pull the silver paper lever forward and remove the remainder of the old roll.

Unwrap a new roll so that the end of the roll is exposed.

Insert the end of the paper roll into the roller until the paper moves no further.

Flip the paper release lever back up, insert the paper holder and roll into the audiometer and hit the paper feed key (lower left grey key).
