Engineering has figured out a way to connect the Tremetrics Oscar 7 Sound Room monitor to the RA650 group audiometer. With the Oscar 7 and RA650 mobile testing customers can now be assured that ambient sound levels during the hearing test are below 051-IA levels. And, Existing RA650 systems can be modified to work with the new Oscar 7.

 The single largest problem that mobile testing companies face is determining if the testing environment is suitable. Ambient noise tests done at one location are NOT applicable once the mobile unit is moved. Ambient noise tests done in the morning MAY NOT be valid that afternoon. The only way to be sure is to do REAL TIME MONITORING. But, real time monitoring may not be valid UNLESS the operator is CONSTANTLY watchlng the monitor. With the RA650 / Oscar 7 the hearing testing is paused if ambient levels exceed OSHA mandated levels.
